I looked for an image in my files to illustrate the MP s leading tax payers a fine old dance and this, though not entirely adequate, has the two themes, The Houses of Parliament and a dance within it.

The situation seems to me far more serious than the MPs themselves realise. You hear them say £65,000 per annum is an inadequate salary yet most folk I know would be delighted with half that figure.
In consequence of their salaries and allowances when £70 Billion goes on Trident or £18 Billion is spent on ID cards or £4 Billion is spent fighting in Iraq these people are oblivious to the costs since with their additional 'allowances ' they are insulated from reality. They don't care if people who have worked all their lives live on a £100 per week.
They don't care if HM Revenue fines us £100 for being a day late paying taxes.

Worse than their economic blunders and their greed is the lies they told [ or swallowed ] over the invasion of Iraq.

I think we could get more talented people at half the price and it is difficult to see how anybody could be worse. Please v let me have your views and anybody who has a better ilustration than mine please post it .

With a very difficult housing market many people will wonder whether to spend money on a Home Report or Home information pack [ HIP ] . They will think if we pay for a HIP and nobody views the property, let alone makes an offer, we will have lost a very significant amount of money for no gain.
After a few months if the property is unsold the original HIP will be out of date and a refresher will be required meaning additional cost.

Inverness Castle from Ness Bank.

Getting a new angle on old subject presents a challenge. In this case a wide angle lens allowed me to come in close to daffodils growing on the river bank and yet to have the castle in focus. This therefore required a small aperture and flash to light the flowers. It took many attempts to avoid bleaching out the blue sky as the light contrasts were so great.Another problem was the steep bank prevented use of a tripod and many times left me sliding towards the river. Gordon Brown and his advisors didn't see the recession / crash coming !

He said ' boom and bust ' is over.
He said ' the UK is best placed to weather the recession '.

Why is it that a person like myself of modest intelligence could clearly foresee a housing bubble and crash a long time ago ? Why was Gordon so desperate to replace Tony Blair ; I suggest he knew that if he left it too long a crash was inevitable and his qualification for the role of PM namely PRUDENCE would be seen for the illusion that it was !

Now at least 2 million families are suffering severely and the same clique are in charge and claiming to be best placed to overcome the dire financial straights they have led the country into.
Today the FSA deputy Chairman Sir James Crosby and Brown Adviser has resigned following his dismissal of a HBOS Risk assessment manager who warned of the over rapid expansion of HBOS . 'Tis truly farce of a high order.

What if after the second World War Germany continued as occupiers in Kent and South of England and remained there for 50 years ? Although I loathe violence I believe that I would be sorely tempted to force them out with rockets or hay forks. What would you do ?

I am not anti semitic but the Government of Israel is probably the most evil force on the planet. It, supported by Bush, fails to understand that building walls across Palestinian land and acting as violent occupying power is the reason for war and for hatred of that country.

I learned today that the letter below has won me a black bottle of extra special Whiskey courtesy of the Editor.

Dear Sir,
I recently received a flyer from Highland Solicitors Property Centre
saying that it is now the law that every home advertised for sale must have
a Home Report.
Many times over the years I have put a property on the market only intending to
sell if a suitable offer came along and otherwise to stay put. In a
recession and in difficult market conditions introducing the requirement
for an additional cost, up to around £800 , by requiring a report which may
be out of date by the time the market recovers and a buyer is found seems
absurd.
Would it not be possible to avoid this expense by having a page of
adverts in the Inverness Courier headed ' Properties which might come on the
market in the next 6 or 12 months ' ? If approached by potential buyers
the owner could then get a Home Information Pack [ HIP ] which would be timely and relevant.
If no potential buyers appeared the owner would have avoided an unnecessary
outlay.
Buyers are not always focused on double glazing, central heating and solar
panels since as we all know its most often a choice based on ' location,
location, location' . If that interpretation is right the buyer could
after purchase improve those features highlighted as deficient in the
Home Report.
I will be very interested to know if the Courier and its readers
[ and bloggers ] agree with this suggestion.
