On the coach up to London we passed some of these rape seed fields and the yellow is so vibrant it has to be seen to be believed...some people don't like them, but I think they're amazing... big hugs..

As you say, less is often more. Fields are full of creative possibilities for simplifying the landscape to a semi-abstract I find.
Three simple elements here say far more than a wider landscape might.
